Not The Way We Pictured Things

We can see the eyes rolling now from our long distant kids, but any grandparent worth their weight knows exactly where we're coming from. We get it. Kids need to make their own way in life, we just don't have to like it. We're not really excited about email, blogs (very impersonal), and all the other non hands on forms of grandparenting. We still have hope though. With five kids, someones bound to stick around. On the up side, our youngest just got married to a wonderful young lady with two kids of her own. We love having them over. Seeing their smiling faces as they run up to us saying "Grandma, Grandpa". It melts our hearts. God is good. One grand can never take the place of another, but the Lord knew we would need these little ones as much as they need us. So, for now, we will enjoy the new ones while we email away to the long distance ones.
